Leon became a full time agent in 1998, and quickly earned many local and regional performance and achievement awards, including being nominated “Rookie of the Year”. He is also a licensed real estate instructor, and is the senior adjunct at Essex County College where he teaches a pre-licensing course. When he is not involded in real estate, Leon is engaged in his hobbies and avocations. He performs on percussions and alto & soprano saxophone as a soloist, guest musician or member of the recording artist group ORACLE. Leon attends & participates in a local church, Calvary Chapel North Jersey, where he is a member of the worship team and participates in the men’s ministry and other opportunities for service & fellowship that arise. Ordained in 1995, he also makes himself available to churches and other organizations as a guest speaker. Delretha has been a marketing representative and director of admissions for local nursing homes and now serves as a community representative for a hospice services company. She has served both her health care clientele and her real estate clients with the same vibrant passion for excellence in care and service. Many in the health canre industry have considered her a highly trusted authority on senior and disabled care, and she is considered to be an invaluable resource for social workers at hospitals and other medical facilities. Her passion is fueled by her compassion for people – especially our seniors and those not able to care for themselves - understanding that buying a home is the single largest physical purchase one will make, and where one lives is one of the most life-influencing decisions one will make. She has served with Leon in many of his ministry endeavors and has been involved with some on her own. These have included women’s ministries, youth detention ministries, homeless ministries and others. She is currently involved at Calvary Chapel North Jersey and participates in some of the outreach and ministry opportunities that arise. Leon & Delretha are the parents of three adult children (one deceased) and eight grandchildren. They have been married nearly 25 years. They were born, reared and educated in Newark, and are lifelong Essex County residents. Montclair has been their home since the 1990's. Leon first obtained his license in 1990 and became a full time agent in 1998. He obtained his broker license in 2002. Delretha obtained her license in 1999 and became a referral agent with another company before becoming fully active in 2004. |
